Short Film ‘Liv Along the Way’: One Woman, One Year, Eighty-Two Summits
For the ones that currently don’t have the head space for a book but could still do with a bit of entertaining distraction and inspiration, here a short film I recently came across which left me in awe for this incredible woman as well as the scenery she ventures through — Tromsø’s Wanny Woldstad would have been proud I’m sure.
The short film Liv Along the Way tells the story of rock climbing legend Liv Sansoz who knew from an early age that she would live her life in the mountains, a dream she successfully pursued becoming World Champion in sport climbing twice and then expanding her career to mixed climbing, ski mountaineering, and even base jumping, risky sports that not always went as planned but Liv continuously picked herself up and moved to higher grounds culminating in the depicted challenge of climbing all 82 4000m peaks in the European Alps within a year.
A little heads-up, if yesterday’s frostbite comments made you feel a bit queasy, you might want to skip a certain section. But other than that, I hope you’ll enjoy those 22 truly inspirational minutes:
